顔の左側の鼻から口角にかけての皮膚が凍傷のように赤黒く変色し、同年10月31日に壊死した鼻孔を含む鼻の一部が捥げ落ちてしまったという。今回のトラブルは、医師がフィラーを注入するための注射針を誤って血管にあててしまったことで血管閉塞を起こし、皮膚への酸素と栄養が遮断されたことで起こったようだ。

クリスタさんは鼻の再建手術を専門とする医師を訪れ、自分の鼻を診せたところ、「もう元には戻らないでしょう」と言われてしまった。30年以上もモデルや歌手としての仕事を続けた彼女は、鼻の一部を失った顔では仕事を続けるのが難しいと感じ、愕然としてしまったようだ。

クリスタさんは鼻の再建手術を受ける費用を補うことができなかったため、約2年前から義鼻を装着して生活している。この義鼻を装着することで見た目がある程度改善され、彼女の萎縮した鼻腔を広げて呼吸を楽にしてくれるという。

そして3年前の医療トラブルを機に、クリスタさんはボトックスとフィラーの施術を完全にやめたそうだ。現在は自分の老化を受け入れることにし、加齢と向き合うことができたようだ。

This is me applying the firm one for daily use, and doing my casual makeup and hair. My firm prosthesis is easier and less time consuming to apply, but does not move with my face when I smile or sing, so I use my other one for performances, but it’s much softer and trickier, and takes A LOT longer to get on straight, plus it cannot be easily removed or replaced, so I must use a ton of extra sinus medication and take my time applying it. You should see what my bathroom sink looks like when I wear that one! I wanted to show the real me, scary and scarred, in contrast to how normal I can look once I add my prosthesis, makeup and filters.
